What's clear, to me at least, is that you should not wait for job openings to apply to the companies that interest you. You should get clear on your unique value proposition, and let them know you are available. You should also talk to as many people in these companies as you can, after you've done as much research as you can, and get their pain points, and what you could do to alleviate them.
Getting Your Dream Job: If you go about it the wrong way, you can just about forget it. If you go about it the right way, the sky is the limit.
Follow the stuff that interests you, and see what shows up. But be smart about it. You can figure out a lot without going many thousands of dollars into debt.
Take any damned job, but bring excellence to it. If you are waiting tables, consider what you can do to make every customer's experience memorable. You'll develop an art in being with people, and that can be re-purposed to any other profession in life.
